NDC Demands Immediate Sack of Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila Over Alleged Corruption Scandal

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately dismiss his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, over allegations of involvement in a major corruption scandal.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party alleged that the scandal involves the operation of a fake government agency and the alleged sale of federal appointments to unsuspecting Nigerians.
According to the NDC, the allegations are serious enough to warrant the immediate removal of the Chief of Staff to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation. The party argued that allowing him to remain in office while the claims are being examined could undermine public confidence in the government's commitment to fighting corruption.
The NDC further urged relevant anti-corruption and security agencies to launch a comprehensive investigation into the allegations and ensure that anyone found culpable is held accountable in accordance with the law.
The party maintained that the fight against corruption must be applied without favoritism, insisting that no public official should be shielded from scrutiny regardless of their position.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Presidency nor Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila had issued an official response to the allegations.
